“We talk about natural resources as if everything had a price tag. You can’t buy spiritual goods at a shopping mall. The things that uplift the spirt - an old growth forest, a clear river, a flight of a golden eagle, the howl of a wolf, space and quiet witout motors - are intangible. Those are the values that people look for and that everyone needs.”
Came across the Story of Stuff at BoinBoing and directly watched the 20 minute short-film by Annie Leonard. In the film she explains how our consumer society works and why it is a one-way road. One can also download the complete film at the website. It’s just 50 MB.
Some weeks ago I decided to have a go at learning to play the guitar. I bought a new guitar and needed some course material. There is some free stuff out there a youtube and other sites. There is only one problem. It’s either not done very well or just a very few beginner lessons. So I went looking for more and found this site, tried the video they offer for free download and decided this is the stuff I need.
The course material is really cheap and you get lots of well done instructions. I’m learning now and practicing.
